Xoloitzcuintli Hoodie
Introducing our Xoloitzcuntli edition hoodie.
This hand silkscreen printed hoodie is designed and produced with love in Brownsville, Texas at La Chicharra Studio!
Art Work Description:
A Xoloitzcuintli is a Mexican hairless dog who guards the living and guides the souls of the dead through the dangers of Mictlan, the Underworld. The cempazúchitl petals make a trail on the Day of the Dead to guide the souls of our ancestors to the altar that the living has prepared for those who have passed. Besides these rituals, the cempazúchitl blooms are edible. It has medicinal attributes that, in my culture, we also call “remedios.” The nopales are a symbol of hope and endurance for those familiar with its’ cultural significance.
